Frequently asked questions
Everything you want to know about Snore Log before you download it, or while you are getting started.
What is Snore Log? +
Snore Log is a sleep recording app that listens while you sleep, scores your snoring on a 0-100 scale, and lets you tag remedies so you can see what actually makes a difference night over night.
How does the snore score work? +
After each session the app analyzes the audio and outputs a score from 0 (silent night) to 100 (constant, loud snoring). The score is based on how often snoring was detected and how loud it was, so a lower number is always better.
Is the app free? +
Snore Log is free to download and use for core recording and scoring. Some advanced history, trend charts, and export features may require a subscription. Check the app for current pricing.
Does it work on Android as well as iPhone? +
Yes. Snore Log is available on both iOS (iPhone) and Android. Download links for both platforms are on our home page.
Where is my audio stored? Is it private? +
Your recordings stay on your device by default. We do not sell your audio, and we do not use it for advertising. You can delete any individual recording, or all of your data, from within the app at any time. See our Privacy Policy for the full details.
Can Snore Log detect sleep apnea? +
No. Snore Log is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose sleep apnea or any other condition. If you suspect you have sleep apnea, please speak with a doctor or get a formal sleep study. Snore Log is a tool for tracking and reducing ordinary snoring.
What remedies can I tag? +
You can log anything you tried before bed: nasal strips, mouth tape, a humidifier, side sleeping, alcohol-free night, antihistamines, a new pillow, weight changes, and more. Over time the app shows you which tags correlate with lower scores.
Does it record all night or just when it hears sound? +
Snore Log uses smart recording that activates on sound above a threshold, so it catches snoring events without filling your storage with hours of silence. You can also replay your loudest clips to hear exactly what happened.
Does my phone need to stay on all night? +
Yes, the app needs to remain open (or running in the background with microphone permission) to record your sleep session. We recommend plugging in your phone and placing it on a nightstand within a meter or two of the bed for best results.
How is Snore Log different from my wearable or smart bed? +
Most wearables and smart beds can tell you that you were restless, but they cannot record audio or score your snoring. Snore Log uses your phone microphone to capture actual sound, score each night, and let you track which remedies move the number. No extra hardware needed.
